Teachers
Esteban Custodio is a chemical engineer and businessman by profession. He obtained his single-subject math teaching credential at the University of La Verne. He taught high school math in Los Angeles and at the Ontario High School.
He is a single dad of a 12-year-old son who is in seventh grade. He likes to play golf, chess, and tennis. Helping students realize their dreams, by obtaining their high school diploma and pursuing a college degree, is one of his overriding passions.
Thomas English is a graduate of Boise State University with a BA degree and has been a certified educator since 1975. Mr. English has also been a successful business owner and President/CEO of an International Sales/ Marketing Company.
Mr. English enjoys playing golf and many other outdoor recreational activities like camping, fly fishing, boating, back packing, geocaching, and exploring. Travel anyone?
Breanna Geusen has been teaching at Mojave River Academy for 2 years. Breanna recieved her bachelors degree at Cal State San Bernardino and her credential at the University of Redlands. Her favorite subjects are Math and History. She enjoys running and competing in organized runs, eventually she hopes to participate in the Disneyland Marathon. Breanna enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach and going to Disneyland! In March she was on Wipeout! and her “Teacher Edition-Student Revenge” episode will be airing September 20th, 2012 at 9pm.
I Graduated with my B.A. from California State University, Fresno in 2004. I received my Elementary Teaching Credential from Califoria State Universtity, Fresno in 2005. I am in my eighth year of teaching and I have been with MRA for the past six years.
My main hobby is running. I enjoy doing mudruns and half marathons.
I am very close with my family. My parents have been happily married for 42 years now and my older sisters are two of my best friends.
Mr. Kaiser has been with Mojave River Academy since 2010. He loves teaching and guiding students to academic success as well as helping them in all aspects of life. Mr. Kaiser is a Graduate of California State University San Bernardino with a BA in Liberal Arts and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
Outside of school Mr. Kaiser spends most of his time with family and friends. He is a big sports fan and enjoys watching his favorite teams such as the Raiders, Lakers, and Dodgers.
Ms. Koger graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1971 and graduated California Lutheran 1975. Ms. Koger received a Masters Degree in Counseling from University of Redlands. She has been teaching for over 40 years. She started by teaching 5th grade then moved to Junior High and High School.
Ms. Koger is fluent in the German language and enjoys teaching it to others. She also enjoys spending time with her family, sewing, knitting, and walking on the beach.
Carla Mendleson received her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies at Cal State San Bernardino in 1994 and her teaching credential from University of Redlands in 1996. She has been teaching for 14 years and especially loves teaching Independent Study! She enjoys singing, dancing and spending time with friends. She is very close to her family who lives out of state and she enjoys visiting them on holidays.
Mrs. Morgan has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development, a multiple subject teaching credential, and a Masters Degree in Education. This is her 12th year of teaching and her 6th year of working for Mojave River Academy. She has been married to her wonderful husband for 24 years. Together, they have 3 beautiful daughters. Mrs. Morgan enjoys reading, gardening, and taking care of her bunny that roams freely indoors.
Stacey Phelps has been a teacher for 5 years. Her specialty is science. She has a 2 year old son who takes up a lot of her energy. She loves to swim, watch detective shows, and read comic books. She is currently working on a Masters in Counseling and Guidance, with the goal of being a school counselor.
Mrs. Romriell has been a teacher with the Oro Grande School District for the past 4 years. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education with an Emphasis in English and her Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific University. She recently moved from the High Desert area to a strange new land where green grass grows and oranges fall from the trees in her yard. Her family means the world to her and she loves spending as much time with them as possible. She is excited to have the opportunity to work one-on-one with her students and is looking forward to a great 2012-2013 school year.
Mrs. Ruiz is a dedicated teacher at Mojave River Academy and this is her 5th year teaching. She received her Bachelors, credential, and Masters degrees from Azusa Pacific University. Her favorite thing to do in her free time is to be around family, which includes her husband, three children, her mom, brothers, and sisters. She also enjoys dancing, scrap booking, and crafting.
Ms. Marisa Tilden is a teacher at Mojave River Academy, specializing in primary grade students. This is her third year as a teacher with Oro Grande School District. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from UC Riverside and also obtained her teaching credential and Master of Education degree from the same university. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, exercising and making crafts. She also loves to spend time with her friends and family.
This is Mr. To’o’s first year at Mojave River Academy and he is very excited to be here. He is a graduate of Humboldt State University where he met his lovely wife and received his Masters and Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential from Azusa Pacific University.
Besides teaching, Mr. To’o’s two loves in life are his family and the Lakers as he bleeds purple and gold. He also enjoys trying new things and traveling.
