Teachers
Heather Andersen completed her first undergraduate degree at UC Davis in 2001. She graduated with honors and a degree in Psychology. Since then, she started a family and got her second degree in Middle School Math Education. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Math Education at Western Governors University. She enjoys reading, puzzles, salsa dancing, crafting, and baking.
Mr. Bright graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and a Master’s degree in Education for teaching. He has been teaching for about 8 years; three of those have been at Mojave River Academy. He is married and has two daughters. If he had free time, he would like to spend time with his family, read, watch TV, or play his bass guitar. He hopes students leave him with an appreciation for hard work and personal responsibility.
Teaching for Mr. Molineux was a mid life career change. He has been teaching for about 15 years now. He arrived in the US from Australia in 1987. This is his third year teaching in Barstow at the Mojave River Academy. He has been married for nearly 19 years and has five children and 4 grandchildren. Mr. Molineux is the secretary and writes a monthly newsletter for Victor Valley Gem and Mineral Club as well as the Hi Desert Gold Diggers and the Barstow Lodge of the Freemasons.
Mrs. Opseth has been a teacher at Mojave River Academy for 3 years. She graduated from Chapman University and is currently earning a Masters of Education at National University. During her free time, Mrs. Opseth enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys. She also enjoys knitting, scrapbooking, and many other crafts.
Mr. Redmond is young but wise. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Latin American Studies from Brigham Young University. He is currently working on his Masters of Education from National University. He is married and has three energetic dogs. He eats, drinks and sleeps cycling and spends a large majority of his free time training. He hopes to someday visit France and be able to ascend the iconic Tour de France mountain called Alpe d’huez. He loves teaching and helping others be the best they can be.
